Latest projects

Here's what I have been up to lately, when I have had the time.  Above is a fluorite and amethyst bracelet that I made for a colleague's birthday.  She loves purple, so hopefully she'll love this too.
Here is the Christmas Bunting, which Joy's fabric, included in the Christmas Cracker swap, had inspired me to make.  It has turned out a bit long to appear all in one photo, but I like it so much, I am in the process of making some more so that we can have a double bunting effect.
I am really pleased with how this has turned out.  I made it up while getting into a suitably Christmassy spirit, watching 'White Christmas' with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.  You can see how well Joy's fabric fits in with the green and red theme.  Thanks, Joy!  It will hang across a mirror eventually and I think it will look great.
On another note, I have also had inspiration about incorporating the little floral buttons (also received in the Christmas Cracker swap) into some jewellery.  It is on my 'to do' list, so watch this space...

Great bunting, very festive. I have never made bunting before, I think I need to try it. x

    1. Dear Gillian
Thank you. I think my colleague liked her bracelet as she put it straight on!
I had never tried bunting before either and this was my very first attempt. I have since found that you can buy wider bias binding so my next bunting should be a lot more straightforward. Sewing the bias binding across the top of the triangles was the trickiest part - even though I tacked it in place first, I still missed some areas so had to unpick it and sort it out. I am really pleased with the end result though, depsite these little issues.
If you decide to have a go, let me know how you get on (and buy the wider bias binding!)

  4. hello Ellie, and thank you for your lovely comment. I am just really irritated by the hackers and why they need to do it. Its not as if I am some huge corporate funded site!! But I really hope I dont have to close, I LOVE my blog and the kind people such as yourself who visit. Fingers crossed I can get it sorted out! As if there's not enough to do at this time of year *Sigh*!!!
    Thank you again,

    BH x

Thank you. I really enjoy making the macrame bracelets and it is always interesting to see how the different beads or gemstones look with the different cords. It is lovely to hear that you like your bracelet.
