Winter sunset

Living in a city, surrounded by houses and at the bottom of a hill, we don't usually manage to see much of a sunset.  We occasionally see the pink clouds or some orange spreading across the sky.  However, Mum and Dad's house faces west with the most beautiful uninterrupted views across the countryside.  We were there yesterday, and the sunset was wonderful.
The colours in the sky were beautiful...
...as were the colours in the clouds.
Even after the sun had set, the most lovely striations of oranges, pinks, reds and golds could still be seen.  I'm so pleased I remembered to take my camera with me as these may become felt pictures in the future.  I think the colours would translate really well into felt, especially the last one.

    1. Dear Joy
Thank you - I have lots of jewellery/craft projects on the go at the moment, but I'll perhaps be able to fit in some felt pictures over Christmas and New Year, fingers crossed. I like to have plenty to keep me going!
      Best wishes

  2. Fabulous pics Ellie and yes, what a wonderful idea to turn them into felt with the colours all striated and merging into one another! E x

Thank you. I hope I'll be able to do the colours justice in a felt picture, but it will be good fun and a challenge to try!

  3. Such beautiful images. My windows face west but my view of the horizon is blocked by other houses though sometimes I see colours above their roofs.

Thank you - it is lovely to see the whole sunset across the landscape, even though just the colours in the sky that I occasionally see are beautiful too.

  4. Hi Ellie, they are beautiful photos and I would love to see you translate them into felt sometime. We have been away this weekend in the Yorkshire dales and the colours of the sky each morning have been so beautiful.

Thank you - I was really pleased to have been able to capture some of the colours in a photo. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful at this time of the year, if it is a cold, crisp day.

  5. It would be a beautiful thing to reflect nature in your crafting, the colours are indeed gorgeous. We have been having such breathtaking sunrises and sunsets round here lately and I am really enjoying them - it makes up for the freezing weather! x
