Reading is such a personal thing, isn't it - one person's 'must read' is another person's 'hate it'! Congratulations on the move, by the way - I hope you will be very happy in your new house.
Best wishes
Ellie
EllieEllie Fosterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12437259693600577503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535765080722557710.post-33565058768803892016-03-14T20:33:35.420+00:002016-03-14T20:33:35.420+00:00I love the idea of the Blind Date with Books. The first one, I really struggled with and "Elizabeth is Missing' which was ok and I was interested in the subplot but I did feel it was drawn out a little too much. Alison Weir has also written a novel about the young Elizabeth too, as well as several 'serious' and more academic books about Elizabethan times.
Best wishes
EllieEllie Fosterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12437259693600577503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535765080722557710.post-66487014100075735592016-03-09T11:59:12.774+00:002016-03-09T11:59:12.774+00:00The idea of a blind date with a book is an interes...The idea of a blind date with a book is an interesting idea. I had wanted to read it so that could be one reason, but it is so well written and believable. It is incredibly sad too, of course, but I'm glad I read it.
Best wishes
Ellie Ellie Fosterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12437259693600577503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535765080722557710.post-45899422320695720222016-03-09T10:57:18.995+00:002016-03-09T10:57:18.995+00:00Thanks, Amy. Yes, they are all interesting in their own ways, although an interest in psychoanalysis would help with the first one and an interest and some knowledge of Elizabethan England would help with the third. The second and fourth books do stand alone and I enjoyed them both, but in different ways.
I have just got another one (the Library have kept a few back still in their wrapping, and would you believe it, murder and conspiracy appear to feature again - there's a theme here...
Best wishes
EllieEllie Fosterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12437259693600577503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3535765080722557710.post-90416546548589745102016-03-08T20:16:37.842+00:002016-03-08T20:16:37.842+00:00What a brilliant initiative.
