Plants in Chelsea Week

 I always know that it's Chelsea Flower Show just round the corner when my alliums start flowering.  These are Purple Sensation and seem to come back reliably.
 A pink aquilegia has been flowering for a while now.
Allium close-ups...
 ...such tactile flower heads.
 Cirsium rivulare atropurpureum with Ballerina behind it.
 The very last of Ballerina - their petals were removed by the rain this week.  Nemesia Confetti is to the right.
An unnamed but pretty aquilegia which one of my sisters gave me and which is growing well for me. I like the white with tinges of pink and purple.
I have just watched the first programme about Chelsea this week - giving a little preview of what is to come.  Needless to say, I shall be watching all the programmes and featuring my favourites in a later post this week.
We are hoping that June will bring the rebuilding of our garden wall, giving us and our neighbours some much needed privacy and giving my plants a lovely backdrop. I am really looking forward to seeing it go up and I am sure there will be photos charting its progress.

      Thanks, CT. I enjoy seeing the alliums every year and keep trying to increase the number I have. Roses will be next and judging from the number of buds I can see, I am hoping it will be a good year for them.

    How I would LOVE to see the Chelsea Flower Show.
    Loving your garden images too. I am already watching spring bulbs emerge. Too early. I have a few jonquils in flower. And many more poking through. And liliums emerging from the ground. No tulips yet, so hopefully they will come up when they 'should'.

      Thanks, EC. I would like to visit one year, just to say I have been once. The crowds put me off a bit. The good thing about the TV coverage is you do get to see the gardens from inside, not just looking at them.
      It sounds as though the plants have got a bit confused - I hope they will sort themselves out... I look forward to seeing photos of the tulips when they flower.

      Thanks, Cheryl. I love alliums too and would love to have huge swathes of them, but that isn't practical in my small garden. It doesn't stop me from adding to the numbers though!

      Thanks, Josie. I do like my small garden - absolutely packed full of plants!
      The tissue paper worked really well - without any grumbling from my sewing machine. Until I can afford a walking foot, it will do!
