Ballerina with the sun shining through the petals. These are a few years old and are in the border.
Ronaldo - new bulbs last Autumn and a lovely contrast with the oranges.
Brown Sugar in the sunshine.
Danceline which is either two or three years old. They were caught by the late frost last year but have now been planted in the border. Here's Danceline again, but a little more open now.
Ballerina looking so colourful...
At the front door, I usually have a pot of tulips - different ones each year. This year it is Finola, which is a double late tulip. It is quite incredible!
They have grown in quite interesting angles, but the flowers are very blowsy and do remind me of the old Dutch Masters paintings of tulips.
Here they are in from of the Choisya White Dazzler, which after being repotted last year has sprung into life and has been flowering beautifully.
Finally, these beautiful white tulips were a belated birthday gift from a friend and I really enjoyed having tulips inside the house as well as outside!
Definitely fabulous. Thank you so much. And a Belated Birthday wishes from here.
ReplyDeleteThanks, EC. I do love seeing the tulips. It is such a positive to plant them in the autumn and have your patience rewarded by them now. I would love to have many more, but I do enjoy the ones I have, especially when they come back again after being planted in the borders.

Beautiful tulips Ellie! Who can resist a pot of tulips?! The Ballerina ones are gorgeous. More recently I am drawn to the 'Dutch masters' style ones such as Finola - incredible looking. Enjoy :) xXx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lulu. I certainly can't resist them. Ballerina is my favourite, especially as it has a lovely fragrance, but Brown Sugar and Ronaldo are both really good ones too. Finola was a surprise as I wasn't expecting them to be as impressive as they are. They were a cheap and cheerful choice from Wilkos last autumn but have been fabulous!
