Spiralling...
I made these spiral iced biscuits for a vegan friend whose birthday is today. The biscuit recipe is a simple one using Vitalite (or other vegan-friendly spread/marg), light brown sugar, golden syrup, plain flour and ground ginger. The end result is a crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle biscuit with a ginger flavour and is yummy! I decided to add the spirals of icing just to give a bit of surface decoration. (Of course, I made a few extra so Chris and I can enjoy them over a cup of tea!)

Yum, yum, yum. Your biscuits and cakes are always yummy. That's why I'm struggling to lose weight! But I still love you xxx
ReplyDeleteDear Chris
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliment on my baking skills. Perhaps I should stop baking so that we can both lose weight?! Then again, life is short and there's nothing like a home made biscuit or cake to make you feel happy, even if it is only for as long as the biscuit or cake lasts...
Your biscuits really do look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am off work ill at the moment and stumbled on your blog by chance. You are an inspiration, I don't know how you fit everything in, I can't manage the basics let alone baking and gardening! When I am back on my feet I am going to get to grips with my time and start doing instead of thinking!
This is the first blog I have ever read and replied to. I have really enjoyed reading your tales and looking at your lovely photographs. You are an inspiration.
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes Catherine
Dear Catherine
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your lovely comments and I am really pleased that you enjoyed reading my blog. I hope you will have a speedy recovery. I think it helps that I work part time, which does give me a bit more time for the things I enjoy. (I also don't have children to worry about - my friends with children seem to have much less time for themselves!) I shall certainly continue posting about my eclectic mix of interests. Best wishes to you too.
