A bit of a funny week

It has been a bit of a funny week this week.  Not funny, ha ha, but funny, odd.  I have had lots of creative ideas whizzing round my head, but when I have tried things, they just haven't quite worked the way I  had hoped. I am also feeling rather inadequate when it comes to Christmas as I have only managed to buy one present so far, haven't written any cards and am not feeling at all christmassy.  Oh dear, this sounds a bit like a moan! I feel a bit like Fanny Cornforth (above) does - a bit listless - although she is also waiting for the man she loves to come and visit her (it is a study for 'Fair Rosamund'), so that may have something to do with her expression.  I haven't even started my Stitching Sundays project - not one stitch done yet!
There's only one thing to do when you feel like this on a Saturday night - watch Strictly Come Dancing!!

Having just published my slightly moany post, my week has suddenly got a lot better as my lovely husband had to go to the supermarket to get some supplies for pickled pear making and came home with these for me!  48 Jaffa Cakes - yum!

    1. Thanks, Mirjam. He did indeed save the week! Things are looking much more positive now, even though I haven't achieved anything much! I think I'll have a much better week to come. Have a lovely rest of the weekend too.

  2. Gosh Ellie, I do hope you didn't eat them all at once. Isn't it lovely when one's partner does something unexpected? Mine bought me a dozen roses today. I'm sure next week will be a whole load better for you,
    Love Joy x x

    1. Thanks, Joy. No, I haven't eaten them all at once - too much, even for me! They'll last me until Christmas, hopefully. It is lovely indeed when you get a nice surprise of a thoughtful gift. I am feeling confident that next week will be much better!

  3. I've had more than one evening where the Christmas stress just whacks me and I end up doing nothing but sitting with hubby eating goodies and watching telly! Recharge those batteries! Chrissie x

  4. Hello lovely and we are all entitled to a moan every now and then. I think I also felt a little bit like Fanny Cornforth up till yesterday and then I got some new springs in my blood to speed up the pumping, possibly because we were getting our tree and it was really the first year where I didn't need to use the wheelchair and all that shenanigans. I am with you all the way with Strictly and I had my bottom firmly in place for it last night after a busy day. I am sending you a big hug and I hope that this week is a little better. If it makes you feel any better I haven't written a single card for anyone in the UK, my job for this week. Enjoy those jaffa cakes xoxo

    1. Thanks, Hannapat. I am feeling much better now and have so much to be grateful for, I really shouldn't be moaning at all. I am usually a positive person, so I'm not really sure what happened last week. Still, as Scarlett O'Hara is so fond of saying, "Tomorrow is another day" and I think this week will be much better!
I hope your tree getting and decorating went well. I haven't eaten any Jaffa cakes yet, but think that this might change in the next hour or so!
I hope you have a good week too.
      Best wishes
