I have been watching lots of crafters on Youtube recently and getting lots of ideas and inspiration. I was particularly interested in one I saw from creationsceecee, who is a talented watercolourist. She is making an Advent Pocket Doodle Book and has made a book (4.5 x 5 inches) and painted a background on each page. She is going to add doodles on each page every day until Christmas Day.
Ooh, I thought, there's a great idea for making use of some of the huge number of gel plate prints I have amassed.
So I set to and created this little book, with a card front and back, ready to fill with all my doodling each day.
Here's the first doodle.
I won't post every day, but will offer a round up now and again in December so that you can see how I'm getting on.
I thought it was a great, achievable way of doing a little something creative every day (and using some stash too - win/win!).
Oooh.
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks, EC. I will do a picture based post round up - probably at the end of each week so that it isn't to onerous for the reader! I am really looking forward to my doodling.

That is so beautiful, I love your doodle and look forward to seeing what you share.
ReplyDeleteThanks, sustainablemum. It will be a good challenge for me and as the book is small, I am hoping I'll be able to keep to one a day.

A very creative way indeed to do a little bit of something each day. We allow ourselves to get too busy this time of the year and so to take a few minutes to (excuse the term), pleasure ourselves is noteworthy. I see a sea wall in your doodle.

Thanks, Sandy. I have been really enjoying this little creative activity each day. I agree, it is really important to have some 'me time', isn't it?
