More Autumn colour to enjoy

The garden is definitely changing and autumn colour is more in evidence.  I was stopped in my tracks by the fiery combinations of leaf colour from the blueberry Goldtraube and hydrangea Pinky Winky on the patio.  I had to rush in for my camera.
Smaller things are also bringing joy with this little cyclamen. The others finished flowering a while ago, but this one is having a late flush.  I do like its crinkly-edged leaves too.
The salvias are still flowering as well.  Above is Cerro Potosi with its bright fuchsia flowers. This one is in a pot and I really should get it planted in the border.
This is another salvia Cerro Potosi which is planted in the border and which has decided to grow up through the magnolia.
Here it is again, with the last few cosmos and helianthus flowers.  I have been planting some bulbs and gathering leaves for leaf mould.  I expect I will be able to gather up a few more this week too.

  1. The colours are glorious at this time of year, though it won't be long now until the leaves have all dropped, there'll be plenty to pick up for your leaf mould. I've got all my bulbs planted up, I've planted up some pots with spring bulbs to give as Christmas gifts this year too.

    1. Thanks, Jo. It does seem to be a good year for autumn colour, berries and mushrooms. The leaves are certainly dropping well now. I have just ordered some more tulips and some pale blue grape hyacinth for popping into spaces, so I am looking forward to them arriving. Your pots of bulbs as Christmas gifts will go down well, I'm sure - what a lovely idea!

  2. You seem to have the sort of garden that looks wonderful no matter what the time of year Ellie. Your garden photos are glorious right throughout the year. I have a cyclamen that colour but its just finished & we are only in spring. xx

    1. Thanks, Julie. Bit of my garden do look wonderful and I have some lovely individual plants but I am a messy gardener (as well as a messy crafter!) . I try to keep things in order, but everything manages to get away from me!

  3. I'm surprised and pleased you still have a few flowers, mine have been gone and all cut back for 2 months. I think stuff here just bloomed too early due to the heat and then we were left with nothing for fall. I'm out visiting everyone on blog list to catch up since I've been away from blogging for a few months. It's good to get back into it.

    1. Thanks, Sandy. So far, it has been a really warm autumn so there is still a lot in flower, which is lovely. I haven't had to insulate my pots yet, but no doubt I will need to start that job soon.
