Happy Easter 2026

To those who celebrate, Happy Easter.  Above are some of the cards I made this year.  I hope they have all got safely to their destinations.

The 'seasonal tree' in the sitting room is full of Easter decorations.  I enjoy changing these to reflect the seasons, months and celebrations.

Another card - I made a few variations on this one for my cat loving friends.

It wouldn't be Easter without some treats, so I made some butterfly cakes with a couple of Cadbury's mini eggs on top. 

Storm Dave is starting to make his presence felt today here in the UK, and it is certainly windy outside.  Enjoy the Easter weekend and celebrate new life and renewal, despite the weather!

Happy Easter weekend

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend.  The sun is out today and it is lovely!  My magnolia Stellata is flowering and enjoying the sunshine.

 I made some chocolate butterfly cakes...

 ...and picked some primroses and primulas for the seasonal tree table.

 Lots of eggs were added to the display.  I also decided that when the glass vases weren't holding little posies, they looked a bit bare, so made some polymer flowers in pastel colours to sit on them.  I had seen some ceramic flowers made into rings and brooches at the vintage fairs and thought I could do something like that.

I was very pleased with how they turned out.  I used a blend of colours and my flower moulds, and then dusted some mica powder in the middles to add a little shine.

 Apologies for the photo - it just wasn't bright enough when I took it, so it is rather glaring, thanks to the flash.

Even the close up is a bit glaring - but gives you the idea! I have been in the garden today, rescuing some much loved astrantia plants from some rather too vigorous crocosmia/montbretia (which has needed doing for ages!) and hope that the sun continues to shine as there is always so much to do at this time of year.

Easter eggs

I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend.  We stayed at home but really enjoyed having an extra couple of days.  I made some Easter decorations, based on an idea I saw on Sew for Soul Blog, although I used tissue paper painted with acrylic as my base layer.

It was a little fiddly to cut the images out of the paper napkins, but I am pleased with the way they turned out.  I also decorated some others with pastel dots and tissue paper stars, but they aren't quite finished yet. The lilac in the top picture had to be cut from the tree as it was a wayward branch which threatened to hit us every time we went near it, but it is scenting the room nicely and adds a bit more Spring to the Easter decorations.

Lilac is not the most beautiful of trees for most of the year, but then it really does earn its place for three glorious weeks in Spring.
