With warmer temperatures and a bit of sun, the plants in my garden are growing away now. Above are Narcissus Minnow and Muscari Latifolium.
Lots of Narcissus Minnow with their pale creamy yellow petals and a splash of brightness in the centre.
I planted lots of this muscari (grape hyacinth) and I really enjoy the graduation of colour as it opens.
Tulip 'Ballerina' putting on lots of growth.
Tulip 'Double Early Triumph' gearing up for flowering.
Allium 'Gladiator' I think. I bought three of these last autumn and they all seem to have come through the winter in one piece. They are supposed to have massive flowers, so we'll see.
Delicate flowers from Prunus incisa 'Kojo-no-mai', looking a picture at the moment.
Finally, Magnolia Liliflora 'Susan', nearly ready to slough off the furry bud covering and unfurl her petals. A few days more to wait...
How lovely to have a walk through your garden ;-) !ReplyDelete
Those tulips look so promising, don't they?
Thank you. The garden is really starting to look full of promise now and after the long cold winter, it is great! I am looking forward to seeing the tulips - I planted lots in tubs last autumn.
It is lovely to see the garden come to life.ReplyDelete
Thank you and you are so right! I really enjoy this time of year, seeing everything starting to grow. It is a very optimistic time ( even if I am sooo behind with my seed sowing!)
Best wishes and enjoy your garden and allotment.
There is so much just about to happen in your garden. In another two weeks it will look beautiful.ReplyDelete
My tulips are about to open and I'm quite excited as I can't remember what colour I planted so it will be a nice surprise!
Thank you - I am hoping the tulips will be an explosion of colour, but will take photos and post them whatever happens!
I know what colours I have planted but am still very excited to see them; yours will be lovely, I'm sure. Ooh, the suspense...!
Dont the blue of the muscari and the yellow of the narcissi look so good together? MY magnolia is in full bloom now, its Stellata and it is gorgeous. The other thing that is really fab now is our clematis armandii, its spread along the fencing and is in full flower with a gorgeous scent.ReplyDelete
Thank you - I really like the yellow and blue combination which is very cheerful and Spring-like.I have a tiny Magnolia Stellata, but am not sure it will be up to flowering this year. I would love to see a photo of your clematis montana, which sounds lovely.
Gorgeous colours, not long to wait now for the explosion of colour.ReplyDelete
Thank you. Every day, on my wander round my little garden, I notice more things starting to grow, which is really encouraging. I haven't started sowing any of my flower seeds yet though, so must get on with that. I am really looking forward to seeing the tulips in flower.
