My garden in Chelsea week (and blossom from Mum's garden)

It's Chelsea Flower Show week again, and while I am deciding which are my favourite gardens, here are the stars of my own garden.  I have not been very successful with aquilegia before, but this year, I have three plants which are looking lovely.  The top one is one from my sister, who has several old fashioned, but lovely varieties in her garden.
I bought this one last year and it is looking fabulous.
This was supposed to be a blue one, but, as you can see, it's pink!
Tulip 'Blue Parrot' from the 'cosy autumn swap' - thank you to cookie!
Tulip 'Black Parrot' looking amazingly frilled and beruffled.
My gold medal goes to Tulip Ballerina (I think you may have guessed that!).  Even as the age, they are still beautiful, elegant and graceful.
Now to Mum's delicate apple blossom - about a month late, but stunning.
It is just such a pretty flower and the dark pink buds highlight the white petals.
Spring has finally sprung. Hooray!

Thank you. I would love to say 'Yes!', but in fact, bits of my garden are a riot of colour! It has little pockets where certain things are looking good, but as a whole, well, it's slightly less than gorgeous. I love it, but I ma rather biased and I know it wouldn't win any awards (except perhaps 'Messiest and most lived-in looing garden').
      Best wishes

Thank you. I am really pleased with my three aquilegias, especially as this is the first year of them coming back. I rather wish I had some apple blossom in my garden, but I am lucky that Mum's garden has lots.

  3. Beautiful spring pictures Ellie, so good to see all those colours on this so far rainy day! An extra good reason for lots of flowers in the garden....;-) Love from Mirjam.

Thank you. I love to see the garden gradually waking up and the flowers cheering us up during this cold Spring (the coldest since 1979, apparently!) We could all do with some sunshine, couldn't we?

Thank you. I love the black parrots too - another one I shall be buying for next year. They are so over-the-top! The tulips have all been a bit battered by the wind, but are hanging on (just!) Thank you very much for your kind words about the colour in my garden - very much appreciated :D
      Best wishes
