Happy Things

I thought I'd share some things currently making me happy and thankful.  A yummy Victorian sandwich cake...
 ...and flapjack.
 Some cheerful yellow daffodils.
 Crocuses coming out in the garden.
 Buds of Prunus Incisa 'Kojo-no-mai' starting to green up in the sunshine.
 Silky flower buds of Magnolia 'Susan' against a beautiful blue sky.
Snowdrops in the garden - this one is a double.
 Tulip buds hopefully promising a colourful Spring.
Flower buds from Blueberry 'Blue Pearl'.  
 A little china pot bought for £1.00 in a local antiques shop.  It was so pretty, I just had to buy it.  It will look lovely with primroses and grape hyacinths in it.
 My seasonal tree, full of wintry-coloured decorations.
Finally, a pretty mug from my friend Alison.  Lots of happy things.

    I love to see all the things that make people happy, I'm doing my photo 365 this year of things that make me happy and that I'm grateful for. Isn't it great that spring is almost here.

    Lovely, pretty happy things! Isn't it fab to see the little shoots start to sprout up in the garden ? A lovely reminder of the Spring that's to come :-)

      Thanks, gilly. It is lovely to see signs of Spring (although I'm still not convinced we won't get Winter proper). In the meantime, I am enjoying the buds starting to show themselves.

    I think your happy things are "my" happy things too..I love seeing the spring flowers opening...but we are a little behind here in the Moorlands... so I shall have to be patient!

      Thanks, Annie. The double snowdrops are beautiful if you lift them up and look at the inside. It's very kind of you to say the garden looks pretty - it has nice little bits which I can isolate in photos, but the whole thing is very messy and has stuff everywhere (a bit like me!). One day, when I have my larger garden, with a greenhouse and cold frames and space, all will be beautiful...*sigh*...(although knowing me, it will probably be just as messy with even more stuff everywhere!)

    What pretty sights you've gifted us with today Ellie - your Victoria sponge and flapjacks look delicious and then I spy all those beautiful blooms, love love those crocuses - so long since I caught sight of a crocus, and the magnolia and double snowdrop - well - magic - Spring is springing fast at your place!       Thanks, Joy. Spring is starting to make its presence known, I think, but we have had some frosts overnight which will hold things back again. I am very lucky to have all these things to be thankful for.
