The vibrant colours of the tulips have gone, to be replaced with delicate shades of lilac and purple. Above, Clematis Ice Blue starts to unravel its petals, showing just the faintest hint of lilac/blue.
The alliums are in flower and looking wonderful (they always seem to flower for Chelsea Flower Show week!)
They are amazing in close up too...
These alliums (Christophii, I think but am not sure) are just starting to explode into life.
Reliable and beautiful geranium Rozanne (complete with a coups of aphids - yuck- which are plaguing my roses and pretty much everything else at the moment.
Here's a more tropical flower. It's more on the pink side than purple, but I am delighted because it is flowering for the second time! I am not that good with house plants, so when my Mum gave me this orchid, I was rather concerned. I put it in the bathroom because I thought it would like the humidity and I think it does. It probably needs a bit of food now though.
Nothing to do with actual flowers, but I was intrigued by the pattern the sun made shining through the net curtain this morning. It has been lovely to enjoy the sun, but all my pots now need watering!
Very pretty all those flowers Ellie... I am also a fan of purple, pink ,blue and white flowers in all shades! I am the same with indoor plants :-), so good your orchid is still alive and well! Love from Mirjam.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mirjam. The fact that my orchid seems to be happy is making me very happy! The only house plants that seem to cope living with me are spider plants and aloe vera - I am trying to grow some Streptocarpus too because I love the flowers, but I am not sure I'm getting the watering right. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed!

Your alliums are stunning! I had meant to plant some allium bulbs but forgot, which is a pity because they are among my favourite flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie. My allium Purple Sensation are gradually getting smaller and some have just died out, which is a shame because I like the rich purple colour. However, Christophii is doing really well, so I am thinking I need to get some more of these in the autumn. They are amazing flowers.

What wonderful blooms you have there Ellie - your garden must be an absolute delight for you! Your net curtains look 'glorious' - I so like nets and miss them so much but we really need venetians to protect us from the hot sun and give us more control over the light which can be very glaring at times over here. Have a wonderful week, Joy x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joy. I do love my little garden but it is suffering a bit in the sun we've been having, lovely though it is, of course, as everything dries out so quickly in raised beds. I did a load of watering last night and it is a bit cloudy today, so I hope that will help. The patterns from the net curtains were so pretty!
DeleteHave a lovely week too.
