Spring Colours

My first tulips of this year are flowering - these are Single Early.  I have lots more in bud and as I am just a little obsessed with them, I am sure there will be many more photos to come.  The interesting thing is that these first two echo some of  the other colours in the garden at the moment...
...such as the fuchsia/magenta pink of these primulas...
...and the delicate pale yellow of the primroses.
Then there is the fuchsia and purple Lathyrus Vernus, grown in a pot.
The anemone blanda from last year... (still in their original posts - shame on me for not planting them out!)
...echoing the pretty graduated blue and purple of the grape hyacinth - muscari latifolium.
Finally, a hellebore, with a primrose behind it and another Lathyrus which I planted a couple of days ago, having had to remove more montbretia.  It looks like a little snapshot of Spring.

    1. Thanks and welcome, Marlene. There is a bit of a purple theme at the moment, which then turns to pink once the roses start flowering. I enjoy the way the garden changes with the different colours.

    1. Thanks, EC. I hadn't realised that I was supporting feminist colours but am very pleased to be doing so and thanks you for noticing! I always exercise my right to vote, because I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the women who fought for that right, sacrificing so much. I am delighted that my garden echoes this (even if I hadn't planned it consciously).
      Have a lovely weekend.

  4. I can only imagine from what I've heard, that your garden will be beautiful as spring progresses. Look forward to many more photos. Love your tulips. Can't grow them in Brisbane, too hot & humid.

    1. Thanks, linny. There will be many more photos to come! I have planted several pots of tulips this year and am hoping they have done well. I have also planted some from previous years in the borders, but am not sure how successful they will be. I am hoping for a riot of colour which I look forward to sharing (especially if you aren't able to grow your own).
      Have a good weekend

  7. Hi Ellie, thanks for your comment on the warring cats. I have tried Feliway before in the plug in form but my house is victorian and very vast and really you would need several to be effective. I don't know why Princess is like it, she gets plenty of attention but poor old Rowan is scared to venture out of the lounge. Princess does go for the others including Rupert who is twice her size but they aren't affected so much.
Love your spring flowers, makes you feel so much better once spring arrives does't it?

    1. Thanks, Briony. Encouraging cats to get along with each other is an on-going challenge, isn't it? It is so lovely to see the Spring flowers now. I really enjoy this time of year.

    1. Thanks, Chel. More tulips will be featured, when they are flowering - purple, pink, red and orange, if I remember correctly.
      Take care too.
