Here are a few more cards which I haven't posted about. Above is one for a friend who appreciates animals and...
... a pun or two...or more. I really like the stamp set I used here, which is by Josh Griffiths' Beyond Stamping range. His animal stamps are so cute.
I added a final pun on the back!
This one was for a friend who really likes the slowing drawing patterns I make.
This was for my niece and I tried out a stamp which had lots of images on it, by Lynne Perella for Paper Artsy. Lynne Perella's stamps are full of collaged images and detail.
A ruby wedding anniversary card for one of my sisters.
A card for my mum-in-law's birthday, with a die cut heart which I watercoloured.
Another friend's birthday and some lino cut stamps from Clarity Crafts, again watercoloured.
Here are the new stencils I treated myself to. I like the retro feel and I think these geometric patterns will work well, especially for men's cards, which are always trickier.
This one is my favourite so I tried it first.
I really enjoy making cards and getting inspiration from others. There are so many talented people who generously share their skills and ideas. (The only trouble with this hobby is that there are too many lovely stamps, stencils and dies out there and news ones coming all the time!)

Ooooooh Ellie, these cards are absolutely wonderful. Lots of people are going to have a bright ray of sunshine pour out of their mailbox when they open them. Cards that come via "snail mail" are better than medicine sometimes. These all are gorgeous!! Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrea. It's always nice to get something in the post/mail that isn't a bill or junk mail! I hope the recipients liked them.

Oh I love the animal card, and the puns, haha. Your friend must have been delighted with that. They're all lovely though, I especially like the heart one for your mum-in-law. I like what you've done with the stencils, yes, I think we're all inspired by seeing what other people come up with.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo. Yes, the puns are a bit groan-worthy, but I had fun coming up with them. I get a lot of ideas from watching people on TV and Youtube - ideas I wouldn't necessarily have come up with, so it's great to have those opportunities.

How I love and admire your creativity.
ReplyDeleteThanks, EC. I really appreciate the support. I do enjoy making cards as they are a mini-project which has a deadline, so that makes me get them done!

Gosh your cards are so beautiful & detailed Ellie. And I love your new stencils - they look like so much fun!! I've not heard of rotating stencils before but they are very effective. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie. The stencils are fun to use and your see the pattern build up with each turn and colour. There is a specific stamp platform with stencil adapter which Sizzix also sell (of course there is!), but I just make marks for the top two holes and then line the stencil up with that - it works fine. I need to do a card for my brother in law soon, so will use one or both and see what I get.
