Sunshine in the garden (briefly)

The sun shone, briefly, yesterday and what a difference it made to the hyacinth and crocuses.
They had been tightly curled up in bud for quite some time, but a bit of sunshine and they suddenly unfurled their petals and revealed their beauty.
Cream Beauty really is just that, with the contrasting orange centres.
This is my favourite photo as it shows the delicate veining on the petals  - beautiful while the sunshine lasted.
However, they are all tightly shut again now as we have had snow today!

  1. Lots of snow here everyday since the weekend, so nice to see your signs of spring - unfortunately they are all too rare up here. xxx

Thank you - sorry to hear that you have had so much snow. I think Spring may be a little delayed this year, but it will come eventually. The plants are definitely showing signs of growing, even when the cold knocks them back again.
      Keep warm

Thank you - I can't wait until Spring proper arrives. Everything is poised, just waiting to burst into life. I am looking forward to getting on with my seed sowing (I always have far too many things that I want to grow and I forget how limited I am with windowsill space.)

  5. It is always such a thrill to see open Crocuses; I have very few and I have yet to see them unfurled. We are forecast snow again tomorrow...

Thank you. I am pleased I managed to get a photo of my crocuses when they were open because I think they will be remaining closed for quite a while now. It is snowing again today and there is also a howling gale too. Winter is not quite over yet, I think.

Thank you - I hope your bulbs manage to survive the weather. It is snowing here today and I think I shall be battening down the hatches this weekend! Winter is still in charge, isn't it?
