Finally...the Christmas Tree is up!

 I have finally got round to putting the Christmas Tree up (there were times when I thought it would never happen!)  Traditional red and gold but also various little bits and pieces we have collected or been given.  I do admire beautifully colour co-ordinated trees, but it just isn't me!  While I was busy with assembling the tree, Scruffy was very interested in the box.
 He decided it would make a perfect little bed...
Doesn't he look comfy?
 Perhaps the other part of the box is better?
He just about managed to squish himself in  - he has filled out a lot and the vet told us he is overweight, (but I blame the steroids he has to have for his itchy skin), as he is pretty active and doesn't seem to eat that much. However, we don't know what he does or who he might go to, once he goes out prowling!
Here is a close up with two new decorations from the Christmas Cracker swap, which look lovely!  I think I feel a bit more ready for Christmas now, although I need to wrap the family presents and write their cards, oh, and finish making a present for a friend...hmm, on second thoughts, perhaps I'm not quite there yet!

    1. Thanks, Jille - yes it is, at last! Still lots to do though and the Tilda rabbit has to be the priority (she just needs a hat and a face), but I am hoping to devote tomorrow to getting her finished.

    I love Christmas trees like yours, where there's lots to see and full of memories;
    that's far more personal I think....

    1. Thanks, Thea. Scruffy does indeed look very pleased with himself! If there are any bags or boxes around, he always has to be the first to investigate them!

  4. Your tree looks lovely to me - my tree is never coordinated, but full of various trinkets and things that hold lots of memories. I think it's nice to leave a few festive tasks until the last minute. It would be boring if it was all done by December 1st! Happy Christmas to you Ellie. x

    1. Thanks, Gillian. I must agree that I like the trinkets and memories tree best! I have finally wrapped my presents so am getting there now. Perhaps one year I might be organised sooner, but I won't hold my breath on that one!
      Have a lovely Christmas too.

  5. Your tree looks wonderful Ellie and I really don't even think about cour coordination any more bits better just to go with it. Each little bauble has a story and that's what makes it special. You've done a lovely job. Xoxo

    1. Thanks, Hannapat. I am happy with the tree and really pleased to finally feel as though things are sorted. I am thinking that I need to make some pom poms now for bunting or garlands, or just to enjoy in lots of bright vibrant colours - to cheer us up in the chilly wintry days. Then there's my embroidery to do, of course!
      Have a lovely Christmas
