Index Card A Day (ICAD) - Week Six

Here are my index cards from week six.  This challenge goes on until the end of July, so I shall have to find something else to challenge myself with after that!  Above is Ocean; Hydrangea and Rust.  Lots of fun was had with stamps, stencils, watercolour crayons and acrylic paint for these.
Here are Mirage; Gradient; Cinnamon or Spice and Knot.  I really like Cinnamon/Spice which was really relaxing to paint. I used a grid stamp and embossed it with white embossing powder, to create the raised lines.  Then I painted in the squares using gouache, in what I hope was a random pattern.  Knot was created using an embossing folder and then dry brushing with different shades of acrylic paint.
Just in case you needed a closer view to see what I had done for Mirage, here it is at a different angle.  I used black card and a unicorn stamp with clear embossing powder.  Now you see it, now you don't!

  1. I like what you've come up with for each prompt. It must be interesting to see all the different interpretations. Thank you so much for all the kind comments you have left on recent posts, it's been such a comfort to know I've been kept in so many people's thoughts at this sad time.

    1. Thanks, Jo. Sometimes the ideas flow, sometimes they need more consideration. I am really enjoying this challenge though.
At times like the one you're going through, blogging friends can be so supportive and that does help.

  2. Mirage is a stunner - and I am quite certain you always will find new and creative ways to challenge yourself.

    1. Thanks, EC. I had a really clear idea for Mirage which worked just as I hoped (not always the case).
I still have my art journal which is ongoing and the monthly ATCs (I haven't started August yet...). I am also making face masks for Chris and me, so am tinkering with various patterns to find one that works best for us.
I also have plans to make two pairs of cropped trousers so there is plenty to be doing!

  3. I love knot that is gorgeous. I love how you have interpreted all the different words, I do hope that part of the creative process is still as interesting for you as it was at the beginning.

    1. Thanks, sustainablemum. Yes, I am still loving thinking about the different word prompts and deciding what I am going to do. I will be sorry when the challenge ends!
